I want to protect the charm of our city. Over-development and wrong development are both
detrimental. While I understand that we must have a strong tax base to sustain our infrastructure,
we need to think about where we want to be in 50 years. Choosing the right projects and
development are a must to maintain what makes Aiken so special.

I want to bring greater levels of transparency and accountability to the Mayor’s office. Aiken is growing and the needs are changing rapidly. Consistent conversations between the Mayor and our citizens are necessary for integral progress. I will invite meaningful interactions from the public on potential projects, economic opportunities and unexpected crises before decisions have been made.

Actionable Issues
There are many actionable issues currently in Aiken City, These are main one’s I plan to work on as the Mayor of Aiken.
Transparency and Accountability
I want to bring greater levels of transparency and accountability to the Mayor’s office. Aiken is
growing and the needs are changing rapidly. Consistent conversations between the Mayor and our
citizens are necessary for integral progress. I will invite meaningful interactions from the public
on potential projects, economic opportunities and unexpected crises before decisions have been
made.
Strong Financial Stewardship
Economic stability is on everyone’s mind. I want to make sure we are adequately evaluating
city expenditures in order to be good stewards with our tax money and other revenue streams.
Inflation is causing many of our citizens to struggle financially and we do not want tax increases.
We need to be saving for rainy days.
Community Safety and Well Being
Crime is on the increase in our city just like everywhere else. We need to continue to ensure
the safety of all our citizens. I would like to ensure strong support for and communication with our Police Chief and his staff from the Mayor’s office. We must make sure we remove barriers to efficacy and empower our officers to excel in their duties to protect our city.
Healthy and Beneficial Development

Homelessness
As Mayor, I want to lead city council in developing a comprehensive policy to deal with
homelessness. More homeless men and women are showing up on the streets of Aiken.
This is a safety issue for our citizens and those who are homeless.

Field Representative for Congressman Gresham Barrett 2003-2011. I worked with local, state and federal officials. Part of my duties were to interact with SRS officials, school officials, and civic groups in the city and county.
